You Were Born for This: Astrology for Radical Self-Acceptance and Living Your Purpose

Recently I started to get interested in astrology. I suppose that I’m trying to figure myself out. Explain why I am different. I’m different from my family. We may share the same DNA but we are not similar. Our values, goals, and choices are different. I mean they aren’t even close. I was always treated like an outsider who would likely draw shame to the family name despite no evidence to support their opinions. I digress.

I occasionally write about my grandparents. I really feel that I align with their values and ways of life like frugality, simple homemade meals, thrifting, and taking adventures. My grandparents shaped my life and showed me the positives in life. My direct family showed me how not to be. Enter my interest in the book You Were Born for This: Astrology for Radical Self-Acceptance and Living Your Purpose.

I actually wrote this introduction before finishing this book. Crazy how many things relate to me personally.

After reading this book, I feel that I am normal. Or rather I know why I am the way that I am. And I am totally ok with it. I was born to be awesome in my own way!

Astrology reminds us that we are exactly as we are supposed to be for good reason. On purpose and with a purpose that we must live out if we want to feel any kind of fulfillment.

This is the best astrology book I have read so far. Pairing the book with the author’s site to calculate my birth chart made it very easy to focus on my own chart and skip the other parts. Each area was well written and to the point. I felt like I got a great overview of my full birth chart. I will be refreshing myself periodically with my e-reader highlights from this book.

Radical self-acceptance means understanding that we were made exactly as we were meant to be. There is no part of us without a purpose. There is no excess in how we are put together. There was no mistake made here.
