The Book of Ichigo Ichie: The Art of Making the Most of Every Moment, the Japanese Way by Hector Garcia Puigcerver and Francesc Miralles

The Book of Ichigo Ichie: The Art of Making the Most of Every Moment, the Japanese Way

You have options in life. You can choose to live in the present, the past, or the future. Often times we worry about the future and ruminate about the past. We completely lose sight of the present. There could be a cute bear walking through your yard and you are worried about what someone posted on social media. How about that time where someone did something nice for you and all you kept thinking is about that one time that someone else stepped on your toes.

Ichigo Ichie walks through the Japanese way of making the most out of every moment and savoring the last drop of the moment. This book made me acutely aware that this current moment will never happen again. No matter how hard we try to recreate a moment. It will never happen. “Every one of us contains a key that can open the door to attention, harmony with others, and love of life. And that key is ichigo ichie” (Source Goodreads).
