During the podcast episode of Go Help Yourself, they discussed Angela Duckworth‘s book titled Grit. The piece that hit me the hardest was about giving up on low level goals. For the Type A, overachiever that may reside within me (ok it does!), it feels weird and wrong to give up on a low level goal regardless how important or unimportant the goal. I am not a person to give up!
Last week and this week, I let go of some low level goals that I have kindly renamed bullshit stuff that doesn’t really matter! I am showing up to things I want to show up to and totally rocking it. But when I don’t want to give it 100%, I say no. Maybe it was the influence of Sarah Knight plus this podcast plus the fact that I had 4 running injuries in 8 weeks and haven’t slept since my first injury so I was just tired as hell. I really needed to give up the low level goals and get some sleep.
I am proud to report that I have slept through the night for 4 nights in a row. Right now that is my longest record since the last week in August. I feel like a whole new person!
Beyond the sleep, I have been spending time with a career coach as well as building my nerd ‘folio/brand of blog posts. More to come on this topic in the future.

Best Podcasts of the Week
I have been binge listening to the Vibe Tribe podcast. These ladies are amazing! It’s full of tips, tricks, woo-woo stuff, and all about making your best life without selling yourself short. A new episode came out and I am literally in love with this podcast even more! I will be reading the book Rach discussed during this episode soon.
We’re back with our solo dolo episodes for season 4, and Rach is kicking it off. Fun fact, she recorded this twice because accidentally deleted it the first time. Bet she won’t make that mistake twice!!
If you’re new here, let us introduce our co-host Rachael!
She’s a dreamer. She’s a seeker. She’s a doer. Rachael uses her powers in subconscious reprogramming, building a magnetic personal brand, and spiritual rituals to support women in wellness find alignment, love, success, abundance through business, finances, relationships, and travel.

Designing a freedom-based lifestyle. Quantum uplevelling. Having fun! These are her foundational to her method.
The wellness practitioner who desires to learn what goes on BTS of a successful business so she can blueprint it and apply it to her own. The wellpreneur who isn’t afraid of a little woo to add a bit of spice and excitement into her life. The spiritual coach who craves fun, freedom and a lot of freakin’ abundance. These are the inspiring women she serves with her whole heart.
Rachael’s magic lies in her high vibe energy, magnetism, and her ability to tap into your inner self-worth and confidence so you can Claim Your Freedom in the way that lights you up most.
In this episode, she discusses:
- a fun little announcement!
- an introduction into the concept of the Upper Limit
- how the Upper Limit has affected her life (and likely yours)
- what to do when you are aware of the Upper Limit
- how to overcome your subconscious threshold for happiness
Literally nothing new! And I am totally ok with it. My husband decided to make protein smoothies for breakfast so we are working on a balance between frozen fruit and almond milk.
What am I reading?
I am officially complete with the No F*ck Guides from Sarah Knight! They were amazing! If you feel that you need to tidy up the mental clutter, learn to get your shit together (or even more together), calm down, and doing more of what you love, then you need to check them out!
This week I wrapped up the third book, Splintered Bones, in the Sarah Booth Delaney mystery series by Carolyn Haines. The first two books were great but Carolyn got me hooked quicker in this book. The ups, the downs, the twists, the turns were amazing. Each character was well developed. The book flowed well and I did not find my self saying “wait who is that person?” that so often happens in other books. If you are into cozy mystery books, this is a must read series.
Can I break my extreme stretch
goal of reading 52 books this year???
A couple weeks ago I posted how I order reusable bags and glass lunch containers. My goal was to have my gym clothes packed by day in its own reusable bag as well as have my lunch portioned out in daily dishes. This was the first full week of using the bags and containers and let me say IT IS A GAME CHANGER! I even added more support by premaking my protein shakes. Shakes for the later half of the week were frozen but defrosted in the fridge the night before I needed them.
What I did was take advantage of my time on Sundays PLUS the fact that packing for 4 additional days took me less time in total vs if I packed each night before work. If you want to totally nerd out about it, I employed a macroeconomics theory called economies of scale. No pressure to nerd out.
Focusing on single tasking my life. I am focusing on one thing at a time.
Setting daily self care reminders. Scrub my face and take allergy medicine top the list. It feels so indulgent to check something off my list that is only for me.
