Book Review: The Joy of Less by Francine Jay

The Joy of Less by Francine Jay was an excellent book on minimalism, decluttering, organizing, and simplifying. The book was broken down into four parts.

1. Philosophy
2. STREAMLINE
3. Room by Room
4. Lifestyle

STREAMLINE is the authors original method of looking at clutter that is applied to your space. Your space that you declutter could be a small drawer or a full room.

  • Start over,
  • Trash/Treasure/Transfer,
  • Reason for each item,
  • Everything in its place,
  • All surfaces clear,
  • Modules,
  • Limits,
  • If one comes in—one goes out,
  • Narrow it down, and
  • Everyday maintenance.

While I love Marie Kondo‘s method best for myself, I could certainly see how STREAMLINE would work for another person.
